Technology may be one of the most crucial things to pull us through once we are on the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Across the world, both businesses and people are struggling in the wake of mass-mandated closures. The  COVID-19 Pandemic has closed restaurants and bars, canceled or postponed events indefinitely, and has forced us all to enact social-distancing measures in everyday life. However, with technology on our side, we can still maintain the levels of productivity that can ensure us that life will continue at a somewhat normal clip. Below, we have listed what we believe will be the three key reasons why technology can and will pull us through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

1. Remote Work Capabilities

Outside of having a child stay home from school sick, you might have never dreamed you’d be typing up your next report side by side with your kid every day of the week, but here we are. With the exception of essential workers, employers have sent their employees to work from a home office in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. With strong remote access or VPN, work has generally continued without a great deal of interruption.

2. Virtual Events/Streaming

Event organizers throughout the world are still canceling, postponing, or migrating events to an online space. Technology has allowed many of these events to continue without major hiccups. Artists and comedians have taken to Facebook and Instagram Live to perform, speakers have moved to platforms like Zoom or YouTube, and church services across the world are streaming. These reveals the tip of the iceberg when it comes to streaming technology.

3. Communication

Video conferencing, online messaging, email correspondence, and phone communication will additionally keep the world connected through these unprecedented times. We have already seen the great importance of staying connected with our fellow man for everything- work, pleasure, and, most importantly, sanity.
